The busiest by far is Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (GDG) which is one of the largest in the world and home to Air France-KLM. The Airport is located northeast of the centre of the french capital around 28km in distance on highway A1.

Paris Orly (ORY) is 10th in the league for passenger traffic in Europe with around 26.5 million passengers in 2007. Orly is located 18.4km south of the centre of the city, near to the A86 ring road.

Easyjet the Luton based Airline Company recently announced that it is operating a second hub in France at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and aim’s to be France’s second largest carrier. Routes from here include Madrid, Marrakech, Hamburg, Luton, Liverpool, Porto, Lisbon, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Belfast, Bristol, Milan, Nice, Venice, Krakow, Biarritz and Ibiza.

A popular destination for passengers to Charles de Gaulle and Orly is Paris Disneyland located at Marne-la-Vallée, which opened in 1992. The resort is 41km from the centre of the city, 46km from Charles de Gaulle and 50km from Orly. Disneyland is situated to the east of Paris on highway A4. With visitor numbers exceeding 14.5 million in 2007 it has become one of Europe’s leading tourist attractions. The Disneyland Paris resort is easily accessible from both Airports. From Charles de Gaulle the best option is the TGV high speed train service which connects terminal 2 to Disneyland with a journey time of 10 minutes and from Orly it is best to use the VEA bus service journey time of around 45 minutes.
