Getting to Paris Orly Airport (ORY)
Paris Orly Airport can be found approximately 19km/12 miles from Paris city center, and lies directly south of central Paris. It is situated halfway between the towns of Orly and Rungis. Other nearby locations include Villeneuve-Saint-Georges to the east and Savigny-sur-Orge to the south. Massy is situated to the west of Orly Airport.
There are two sets of directions that can be followed to Paris Orly Airport:
- One of the ways to the airport from Paris city centre is via the A6 motorway (Autoroute du Sud). If you are travelling from Porte d’Orléans, take the exit at Junction A6a. From Porte de Gentilly, take the exit at Junction A6b. Signposts indicating the airport will read 'Aéroport d’Orly'.
- The N7 (National Route 7), it the second route that one can follow to the airport from central Paris. This road links the city directly with the airport, and the signposts 'Aéroport d’Orly' should be followed.
When using the route via the A6 motorway, travelling time can be estimated at around 20 to 40 minutes. It will depend on the traffic situation at the time of driving. The N7 route is quicker, and should take longer more than 15 minutes.
Paris Orly Airport has many amenities for the traveller. The airport consists of two separate terminal buildings, the South Terminal (Orly Sud) and the West Terminal (Orly Ouest). In both terminals there are adequate banking and ATM services. Branches of the HSBC Bank are situated in the arrivals area of Orly Ouest and the departures area of Orly Sud. Plenty of shopping facilities are located throughout the airport, as well as numerous airport cafés, restaurants and fast food outlets for eats and drinks. Each terminal has it’s own art gallery. Medical centers for emergencies, general medical problems or vaccinations, can be found in both the West and South Terminals.
Paris Orly Airport accommodates business travellers with a wide range of business and conference facilities. In Orly West, one will find the business centre, offering meeting rooms, work areas, offices and a business lounge. Office equipment, such as fax machines and telephones, are available for use. This centre is positioned in Hall 3 on the Departures Level. Conference rooms are available in Orly Sud, with a capacity for 200 people.
